Andrew Walsh is a member of the history faculty at Kean University, in Union New Jersey. He has served at Kean University since the Fall of 2021; there he has taught the following: U.S. I, U.S. II, East Asian History 1600 – Present, America and the World (U.S. Politics), World History, a writing methodology course, along with several others. He received his Graduate degree in Holocaust and Genocide Studies from Kean University in 2021, after receiving his secondary teaching certificate in 2017. He has published extensively on the topics of the Holocaust, pedagogy, the Nanjing Massacre, Genocide Studies, and other history-related topics. Andrew Walsh also writes for blog publications, notably his own, at www.andrewswalsh.com.
He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Gratz College. He is projected to finish his program in either the Fall of 2024 or the Spring of 2025. Andrew is a student, he teaches, and he serves as a member of the KFT (Kean Federation of Teachers) as an active and voting member of his union. He is also a recipient of the Benjamin and Dorothy Abrams Memorial Scholarship, for his academic excellence.
Professor Walsh is passionate about teaching, and mentorship, and he is committed to helping his students develop mastery in their endeavors. He believes that history is essential for understanding the present, and he strives to make his classes engaging as well as informative. Andrew Walsh is also a dedicated scholar, and he is constantly working to expand his knowledge and mastery of the Humanities. Professor Walsh is a firm believer in Howard Gardner’s “Theory of Multiple Intelligences,” and it is his view that anyone can learn if the information is presented in an accessible way.
When Andrew is not teaching, studying, or writing, he can be found playing with his two King Charles Spaniels or listening to podcasts. Andrew is also an avid fan of comedy, video games, and classic films. These interests make Professor Walsh more relatable to his target audiences as well and they give him the tools to make complex ideas more accessible, which is his ultimate objective as an academic.
